Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator

 The City of Entiat is seeking a full time employee who would be responsible for the oversight of the operation of the City’s wastewater treatment plant. Plant operator would have limited supervision and must exercise independent judgement. The operator is responsible to sample, test, monitor and control all treatment plant flows and processes,  clean, operate, service, maintain and repair equipment associated with the wastewater treatment plant, and assist with other public works duties.

The applicant must have a high school diploma or equivalent and must have some computer knowledge. Possession of a valid Class I Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator license is preferred prior to being hired with the ability to obtain a Group II Wastewater Treatment Certification in three years from date of hire.

This position reports to a 5 member board and supervises 5 full time plus seasonal employees. The utility is a groundwater system with iron/manganese filtration and aeration for hydrogen sulfide removal serving domestic drinking water to +/- 4,500 population. The district has a sound financial and water rights base and recently received the Oregon Drinking Water Program “Outstanding Performance” certificate.

Minimum requirements: Oregon WDII and WTI level certifications required; WDIII preferred. Reside within 30 miles of District office. Candidate shall demonstrate strong fiscal/budgeting, mentoring and education skills. Candidate shall possess public relation, presentation and leadership skills. Candidate must be bondable, insurable and possess valid ODL. A Trial Service period of one-year is required. Extensive prior employment/background check and drug screen required.

Annual salary range $65-85k DOE/Q with benefit package including family medical and retirement. Further details available upon request.
